With clouds looming, we arrived at JDM Combe early morning – straight in to the show with no queuing, which was great.
First on the agenda was to pop up and secure the gazebo before the rain set in. It wasn’t long before it did.
None the less, we had a nice selection of 5 ATRs, Tom’s SIR-T (well it’s only 200cc short of being a Euro R), Sam’s fun little CR-Z and Rich’s rather wonderful 1st Gen Prelude with an ATR H22A7 heart.
The rain didn’t put us off, we all huddled under the gazebo to chew the fat about ATR’s and any & every thing else. It was great to welcome Sara and her partner to the club – they brought an ATR each to the show!
There was the usual display of Jap metal at the show and we were close to the track action – a mixture of club track time and the drift lads making noise, smoke and smiling faces. If you’ve never seen proper drifting, it is fast and hard, the total opposite to the Top Gear presenters dancing round a track like a ballerina!
Club pictures were a bit scarce due to the weather, but we managed to get some in towards the end of a wet, but fun, day.
